DECONSTRUCTED LIVING/BACK TO BASICS,
PRESS & PUBLIC INSTALLATION
Project brief: Capture a new target audience of younger professionals who may not have experienced the Brintons Carpet before. Create a space that will allow the public to view the carpets in a new and innovative way set within an East London location.
Result: A deconstructed house was formed within an industrial space in the fashionable east end of London. Skeleton walls were erected within the space to emulate the essence of a home without it being too literal. The wall panels and ceilings were brought to life with the use of the Brintons carpets that hung from industrial metal metals clamps. The space allowed people to walk around the deconstructed space and gain a new appreciation for the carpets up close. The spacial design allowed people to experience the carpets in a very interactive manner, allowing people to see the carpet up close, feel the quality and appreciate the process of traditional carpet making.
